Monologue v internal monologue pt2: Initial research

As initial research first looked at the brief examples( not included in this post), then went in search for different varies videos,  taking note of what’s happening as inspiration  or to what to consider.

The amazing world of gumball

why looking at this was relevant: because it is a Perfect example of the mix of 2D and 3D animation, which is part of the brief. The main characters are more brightly coloured flat, it gives more of a contrast and focus compared to realistic background and other characters.  Noticed most animations have detailed backgrounds but simple characters.
In conclusion going to consider this for aesthetics.

Inner Monologue

He spoke very quickly when he was lying, In conclusion need to consider the speed of speech and   body language. His body language matched to what his inner monologue was saying even though he was not saying anything  at the beginning.

In the description box it claims the voice is hers.  Because the voice is same of the males, it is a bit confusing. In conclusion going to avoid that.

What people say vs what they mean: GYM

Why looking at this was relevant: because there examples of what people may say compared to what they mean. Idea generation into how I could phrase the monologue but interpreted differently.

THINGS PEOPLE SAY VS WHAT THEY MEAN!

Idea generation, phrasing, body language, speed of speech.

WHAT LESBIANS SAY VS WHAT THEY MEAN

They had different colours for when it was what they say compared to what they mean.  In conclusion:  might consider that in the final piece.

Guinea Pig Sounds And What They Mean

Looked at this for inspiration with what: pitch, sound and length of the sound can mean.

Pet Bird Behaviors and What They Mean

Bird behavior, idea generation to what body language to incorporate in the final piece

How Crazy Ants Carry Heavy Loads

Got curious about ant behavior.  So watching their video was relevant because it might be incorporated into the finial animation. How they work with each other, how they interact with each other and their strength.

Took some notes, timings and summary of what was said In the video

16: 38 – 17:45 Their crafty with escape plans. Possible paranoia/ think ahead.
18: 02 – 19:00 In ant society the males are winged and die after mating. Quote “males are completely sort of useless” smaller heads. Most ants are female; they work and contribute to the colony.
19: 08 – 20: 03 The queen ant can store the sperm from mating once for all its lifetime. Then produce all female workers. The female workers cannot do that so create males.
20: 05 –  21:14 The ants “ police “ their own community, they attack and kill the eggs of the worker ants.
21:28 -22: 51 Explains how the other workers know find out chemically between queen, normal worker and reproductive worker. They attack the reproductive ants. In conclusion:  ants are more evil then I thought.
23:21- 27: 08 only the queen has the attack chemical.  She has the power to mark what worker ant or thing she wants dead, then the workers kill the marked one.
27:46 – 28: 26 Trap jaw ant, they hunt alone and have something on their face to kill prey.
30:47 – 31: 5 Trap jaw ants, how that type kills and eat prey, they have stingers.
They don’t mate in the colony normally outside the colony.

In conclusion after watching this ant video, for the final piece going to consider: how people act towards each other, hierarchy, power, body language, social norms, type of person, roles and tools a person may possess.

Why do we act differently around different people?
image-why-act-diffrently
Looking at this article was  relevant as idea generation, and to think about what the character may think or react to different type of people. For example, in the situation of: strangers, education, police, family or friends.
