Dialogue, action and interaction pt4: diving outfit history

(Aesthetic, history, depth research)
Looking at deep sea water diving outfits, is relevant to the project because one of the ideas involve going into the deep sea. Looked at different time periods outfits as inspiration and to think about what time period the animation should be set at. Took note of date and depth the suits were recorded to reach.

To make it watertight they had  wrist cuffs  and neck  rubber seal.

“Atmospheric diving suits”.
– in 1979  a world record was set at 381 meters by “Sylvia earle” for 2 and a half hours.
-people wearing normal  clothes underneath,
– complex gas mixtures,

Can reach up to 700 meters.

In conclusion: going to look at scuba diving because not overly keen on a chunky design, as well as with a full head mask you wouldn’t be able to see the character’s facial expressions as much.
